Re: another new un!Hi and Welcome to the Club!
If belts keep stretching (especially Alternator belt) then the spindle(s) could be bent due to being overtightened in the past.

Re: another new un!its on its second new belt now! first one was a halfords thing thou from last owner as i fitted altenator for him and advised a new belt to and that one ended up folding over on its self and snapping on me whilst driving and it was fun to stop the truck! now it has got a gates belt on it and it seems to last better but have tightend it up after a 1000 miles or so as it started to slip in the mornings or when cold.

Re: another new un!Hi.........I have also a 2.3 TD. Let's say that my alternator belt would brake in the middle of the road , in the middle of nowhere. Is it hard to change it? withowt removing the cooling fan in think it would bethe easiest way, but is it possible?
