Norra Newbie - just lost in't wilderness

Just wanted to say hello.
Not been onthe site for some time & was looking for the Frontera Owners Group. Went into panic mode when I couldn't find it & thought the group was defunct. But, hallelujah, you're still all here, with a great new site
Been thinking for some time of putting my '94 Nautilus out of my misery. Excuse my profanaties, but started looking at Mitsubishi, Kia,Toyota, Harley Davison [dreaming again]
Had my Fronty for nearly 13 years now & thought I was due for a change, but couldn't find anything under £25k that would do the job that the old girl will do. So, sod it, I'm going to tart her up with some new bits & get her back to her old self [apart from the bit on the N/S front where some Blonde Bimbo ran into her].
As I use her for fishing trips, I thought I might get her painted up in Camo style, similar to Realtree, but I'm afraid I might never find her again in the woods.
However, I do have one major problem at the moment. The Engine management light used to come on after I had done about 8 miles & then the engine would stutter as though I had bad fuel. I took it for a diagnostic ckeck & thought I had got it sorted by changing the fuel sender unit, about 18 months ago. BUT, now I do 3 miles, the orange management light flashes on & the engine cuts out completely. Anyone had this problem? & what can I do to sort it.

Hello Chaps & Chappets
Thought I was going to be on my own for some time, but ain't this new fangled broadband wonnerful; only got it a couple of weeks ago & it's keeping me up till all hours.
Twas only an idea about the camo, BUT, I think i'll have to investigate it a bit more. Fishing clothes manufacturers already do waterproof jackets, pants, hats, socks & undies. So no reason why I can't get the material, at least for seat covers [if someone has a pattern] & come to think of it, my door panels could do with a makeover too. Not too sure about doing the bodywork though, could be a bit fiddly spraying around all those leaves. There again I could stick the leaves onto the body, then varnish 'em.

I had something similar a couple of years ago. It took my local Vauxhall dealers 4 goes to fix it, inspite of the diagnostic gizmo telling them exactly where the problem was

Anyway, long story short it turned out to be a dirty electrical connection. One of their sparks went through and cleaned every connection in the affected circuit (I think it was to do with one of the fuel injectors) and it has been fine ever since, or at least that bit has anyway

Many thanks to all for your kind welcome back to the group.
Now then, the quirky idea of doing my Fronty in Camo is growing on me.
Does anyone know where I can get camo ripstop material from & where I could get a pattern for the seat covers?

Your best bet for camo fabric would either be ebay or Abakhans near TJ Hughes in Liverpool.

As for a seat pattern, I just happen to have a spare driver's seat lying around that you could take the covers off and then unpick all the seams

I've been surfing and found loads of Camo seat covers in the US of A. None for the Isuzu Rodeo [Frontera] though.
Did find quite a few fabric suppliers in the UK though, some selling Ripstop and Cambrille[?] or Goretex.
Your offer of the seat cover sounds good to me thanks. I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine as I used to make my own Power & Stunt kites.

Unfortunately I'm not able to get out to you just yet. Got my MOT tother day, but having BIG problems with engine management system & can't get it sorted yet. Going to have to take my Fronty to auto electrician, failing that it's going to the Vet's for a lethal injection, cos I'm really getting p155ed off with it.
