Hi all,

A very recent owner of my first frontera, a 1997 lwb 2.2 which was one of those cheap right place right time kind of purchases.
I was only looking for something i could carry a few tools in so that i could sell my van and downsize a bit, the intention was to use up its 3 months Mot and then just scrap it.. but there may well be more life left in it than that.

It does have a few issues, the first one was that the near side indicator was stuck on, pulling the fuse out of the central locking has sorted that problem, albeit i am now with out the central locking or mirror adjustment..

It has had a new radiator fairly recently, thats one of the reasons i decided it was worth a gamble on it being ok for a few months use. However there are a few other electrical gremlins that have shown themselves now i have used it a little.
instrument illumination is not complete, i can live with that, the rpm doesnt work at all.. again, i can live with that. but the one that does bother me is the oil pressure gauge, once warm, it appears to act more like the rpm gauge should.. it climbs very quickly with engine speed, and falls off quickly too.
I hope to have more time later to have a good read through the info here and with a bit of luck these things will be an easy fix..

Thanks for the offer of the clocks, but i will have a look at it first to see if anything else is up with it.. I have not had chance to look at it again today, just too much dry weather stuff that has been waiting for my attention..

as for the oil pressure, yes i know it climbs with the engine.. its the speed the pressure falls off that has me concerned, it settles only just above the red on tickover.. which is another thing i think is a bit on the low side.. again.. once i have had a chance to have a proper look some of these may be simple to sort issues..

i should have said that I am an ex navy stoker .. so i have had seen more than my fair share of gauges..unfortunately..

I have also noticed tonight that the wipers do not return to the normal resting position.
