Hi everyone, the names Richard. Im 22.

I am in the process of buying a 2.5 Frontera A, which should be in my possession in the next 3/4 weeks.

Just thought id join up and see what there is to do in lancashire in regards to laning and pay and play's.


The frontera already has 31" tyres (i know they arent huge but its a start ) and has been looked after well.

Plan is to give it a 2" body lift and a 2" sus lift, diy snorkel and a few other bits and pieces.

Ive never owned a 4x4 but my dad had a lwb 110 when i was a kid and it was awesome, so ive kinda wanted one since then!

Well hello there .
Ive got a 2.5 too, i think its great. Theres a laning trip in the lakes next month if you have your truck and fancy abit of fun ???
31" tyres are fine for abit of laning mate, lots of people use them as for the sus lift, its really easy, hardest bit it choosing whether to use springs or spacers!

Yeah, spacers are cheap and i cant find +2 coils for less than £140.. so i might go with spacers till i can afford a bigger lift with shocks to match.. dont think ill bother going over 2" bodylift though as ive read it involves extending linkages etc which would be a pain!

It depends on the date, ive got herselfs family over one weekend and my stag another lol im guessing ill have my fronty by the end of this month.. very annoying though as i see it every day.. the owner of the cafe on the ind where i work owns it... and i eat there all the time haha


Now you said it, whats the realistic mpg of the 2.5? ive read 30mpg but just want to know if its realistic? Thanks

I pour veg oil/diesel mix in mine mate so at normal fuel prices i get around 38-40. when just running normal diesel i do get around 30mpg. Removing the EGR does help abit
Try Mark (MGAutos) for springs pal, ive got a set and there good.

Ahh so they will take a mix of veg then? i run my asta 1.7td (isuzu engine) on veg but i didnt think the frontys would take it
