New frontera owner here up in the north east of scotland.

By accident more than design , mrs t-d destroyed her golf , first by running it off the dip stick when i was working abroad , then driving it 30 miles with the coolant light on after the water pump failed. She is coming out with me this weekend and will be fully instructed on how to check vital fluids in this car - she was seemingly scared of the golf engine as she was only ever shown on her old mazda !

Looking for a decent car was proving tough most stuff was wrecked or heading that way or with zero service history

My mechanic i use for mot said he had a frontera he had mot'd for a fella who died before he could collect and his wife left him the v5 in leui of payment. Mechanic has done all work on it for last 4 years , ran through mots although thisyear he had to do brake lines

So after a look about we bought a 2.2 dti sport rs on a v plate with 87k on clock for little over 1k - has some chassis rust but ill get out the cup brush and grinder and tidy + paint + Waxoyl If its proving reliable after a couple months

Not scared of a bit of maintainance / repair even if the mrs is. - got a fairly well equiped tool box /engine crane / welding and cutting kit , currently re- building a 87 v8 land rover ninety based trialer out of a v8 disco and a 2.5td ninety.
