I've bought one so I've joined FOGright I am a total newbie to 4x4 and (obviously frontera's) all I know about my new purchase is that its:
red (good colour) 2ltr R reg no leaf springs petrol a few electrical faults (continuous live keeps blowing fuse....radio I think) nigh on 98,000 miles had a re-con head about 1000 mile ago oh it's 3 door sport model (according to the V5(or what ever they call it now)) think it may have been "jacked" up alloys (can't recall the name or tyre size...........it's dark and i aint going out to check) apart from that, I'm in the north west (not far from liverpool), into fishing, touring cars (oulton park soon) might be into getting dirty (once I'm sure about this beast) and why I've joined.. well for your help and advice. I've lurked for a bit and you all seem to be having a whole barrel of fun (I'm closer to barrel-rolling my fronty at the mo) like I said I'm a newbie and i know nowt! OH I'm 38 and don't like boy racer types (so I bought something that terrifies them) real name.. rupert.... not really it's... Re: I've bought one so I've joined FOGThank you for the warm welcomes.
Just one quick question if I may? now remember that I'm a complete novice when it comes to 4X4's... If I'm in 4wd then I get a symbol on the dash..looks like a drivetrain, on the far right? actually writing it down it seems obvious really. I've only had the beasty for a couple of weeks so I'm still learning what it does, so expect some rather stupid questions to follow...(which I promise to put in the correct sections) cheers very much John the frontera numpty award winner for today The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes

Re: I've bought one so I've joined FOGI'm near Old Roan / netherton.
good to know that there are a few members close by that may come to my aid when things go wrong, which they probably will at some point. It was the not using 4wd on the road that got me thinking about the dash display, the misses will be using it from time to time so I have to explain everything to her about the beast. She had a little drive today and doesn't like the steering or the size, she's said she will stay with her little 206 for now! so all is well on that front. RE: the steering, there is a bit of play at the wheel but nothing to serious. thanks again for the warm welcomes cheers john The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes
