Hi just to add some pictures of my little fording trip today, here is prestion fields ford in warwickshire. I beleive a Solihul Steve must visit venue on his fording trips!

As mentioned in my previous post, the ford itself was a little dissapointing (only around 1/2 foot even after all this rain) however the lane itself was intresting.

moved to relevant Thread....

And yes I do use Preston Fields Ford a lot but as it's a Green Lane as well I don't do it all the time.
I took HL3, Apache_Andy and Trugga through it on the Fording Run.

The water level rarely rises by much but when it does the 2nd Preston Fields Ford on the Adjacent Road comes into action.

Seeing as this is being talked about on a few threads, here...

For clarity,

Who exactly should you ask :?:

The Local Councils Rights of Way Officer....

OT;

Turbo,
I went that way through Preston Fields the First time I found it,
(I missed the turn on the other side) but now have a nice road
route in coming from Knowle (Temple Balsall Ford/Start of Run)
and then head across to Studley for the KC & GA Fords

Which county were your driving in? You need to contact the Rights Of Way (RoW) officer.

You will need to identify the road in question, maybe from map references. [I've not done this myself yet] You should also be able to visit the Council Offices and look at the Diffinitive Map & Statement (DMS) and List Of Streets (LoS)

A lot of Councils now have websites that list the RoW officers contact details and a lot are now string to publish Unsurface Rights Of Way (UROW) details on the web, especially Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO's).

I hope that does'nt confuse too much.

Just came back home via preston fields lane after going to the duram ox pub. (those who are local will know it)

Its spooky at night, you also gotta be carefull as there seems to be a hole in the fence and there were a few loose sheap on the track, as well as a muntjack deer. The fronty took it all in its stride though :D
