Wish I had the money to goto the peaks for a 3rd time in quick succession lol. Went not this weekend just gone but the weekend before that and did a handful of lanes....Stunning views if the weather holds out
I started at matlock (that great little gem of a lane at two dales) and went north

Did you do the lane on sydnope hill n the one through clough wood pal??

sydnope hill - thats the one I started at. Awsome lane lol. As for clough wood...nope...I went north, up thru bakewell etc. why is that a goodun?

I do Sydnope whenever i go to work in the fronty as its on my way home !Its a muddy rutted climb up through the wood mate, throws you about abit . If you started at the top of the lane on sydnope, behind DARWIN FOREST, you came out at the bottom next to a row of cottages and turn right down into Two Dales, when you get to the staggered crossroads you go straight over and turn right at the 3 Stags pub and as the road forks, turn left and follow it.

Oh right. I come up the hill and started here https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Sydnop ... =12,0,,0,0 then went north towards bakewell...basicly did last years Peaks trip route, but only a small section of it as the whole route takes about 8 hrs lol

Did you catch on the rocks halfway up mate and did the trees at the bottom say hello to your mirrors? lastime i did it in a B it was abit tight!!

Yeah the trees gave my mirrors some extra tribal tattoos lol, as for the rocks...nope. I did it twice, once in my B and once in a A shorty I was test driving. Strangly my B had no trouble with the rocks, but the A shorty took 3 goes to get up it, but I guess thats just the difference between a LWB and a SWB, that and I know how much abuse my B can take so I just whellyed it up shouting "get up there you b!tch" lol where as the A was new turf, and wasnt mine lol so I took it alittle easyer and ended up X axled twice, then gave her some on the 3rd go

One thing to note is its alot "worse" now than it was last year, the A shorty I took up there has a tilt angle thing on the dash and it was maxing out at 35 deg and really did feel like if I shook side to side it would roll over lol.

Was that a black swb by any chance mate , strange tho cos i caught the lwb and my 2.0 leafer just hops up . if you look at page 510 "wot u did to ur truck today" mate, there are a few pics of the lane on there!

Looking like il be doing this in a 2.2 LWB petrol and as its standard i best get busy, 1st job MOT as its sat on my grans drive SORN at the min , it seems more reliable when its parked there!!

Just ordered some springs from Mark for this, so hoping with that and rseavilles tyres I should be good, not sure if ill have a CB by then tho, but sure ill manage!

We've got a good river crossing but it's not deep and we're going bamford clough, roych steps, pin dale, monsel and few others thats all i'm saying about the route for now

Just found out monsel has been washed out with the heavy rain this week and it's bad at the bottom so might have to come down as the locals seem to be asking off roaders to use it that way till it's been patched up. Will keep you informed as to it's conditon
