Laning around the lakes

Anyone know of any good lanes around the lake district, i fancy a weekend away, and the lakes arent too far away, any ideas, what lanes have people done around there, fancy going this bank holiday weekend, perhaps take the caravan up.

There are some great lanes around the Lakes. But to be honest I think doing them on a bank holiday weekend is ... mmm, I'm not sure how to put this but there will be loads of walkers and tourist all more than willing to give you some grief.
Can I suggest maybe another weekend or even mid week run?
