Sorry I have not been about much lately but been really busy with meeting with many people all over. So I will just let you know what I have been up to

About a month+ ago I came up with a argument to combat duals and the NERC bill .well basically when I told Powys ROW about the idea , the next day I was in a meeting with them ( I think I hit a nerve there )so I went along and showed them the info . But I can not go in to it much detail as it is still being dealt with but looks promising for some of the lanes. Just bear with me for now. Also that day I also drove down to Brecon and met with the ROW for the BBNP and delivered the same info as to get the word out plus I had a cuppa with the shire manager in highways who thinks it is defiantly a good one .so very busy day and still loads more to do

Two weeks after me and mark m met with Powys ROW with a planed BUG meeting (byway user group) these meets are to make plans for the forth coming few months to carry out repairs and general troubles and strategies.

We all agreed with the lifting of the TRO in May of the first half of pie corner. So all being well that will be open. But the second half we suggested not to open due to any work had not been done on the route plus the farmer is insisting that we drive the definitive line not the old track every one has driven for years so we are still in debate over that. If it got opens now it would get trashed in a very short time and only feed the fuel against what we do. So we need to step back and take it a bit carefully if you understand what I mean

Some work is being done along some molfire city with funds from CCW but more work is needed but looking good at the mo

Next is water breaks its neck. As we all know it got close good and proper when there was a report of suspected UXB?s on the lane. But looks like the army are going to do a scan FOC of some of the suspected area to hopefully sign of the lane so we can get in a get it fixed. This has taken a lot of work putting pressure on all sides. But I think we are about at least 18 months away from that at the mo as the little money Powys has is being used on other lanes. The good thing is that things are now beginning to happen at last! The army / clearance company did want a few million before so I thing we have not done to bad at all

Also we have surveyed a lane south ish of new bridge on Wye which need some work doing to it as it is getting a bit churned up with the increased traffic due to the boat closers over the years .so we will need help with that one in the next few moments

We also have started communicating with the mid Wales TRF to try and unite a bit more .doing this will help reduce the fragmentation that is apparent within the motorised user groups. I know we all blame each other for what each of us do ,but really we do all need to get along for all our common aim as motorised access for all .

On top of all this I have been in discussions with the peak district NP but they are on going at the mo.

Shropshire is going fine and loads of stuff is happening all over the county. Plus Shropshire ROW officers are going to attend an all Wales steering committee to talk about all the successes we have had with them and how working with groups like CRAG is working well .just shows really what can be done two + years ago Shropshire would not let us snap a twig but now we get a good budget of money and a say in what goes on .plus they are willing to talk to other councils about how good we are.

That?s about it for me at the mo .but I have also spent a fortune on maps & docs for research on the duals issue but please don?t tell the wife as she will kill me.

The rest of the exe have been very busy as well but I will let them let you all know what has been doing
Yours
Ray
