Hi all went to Thetford forest area today with Bobbinsjob (Ian) and Gibbo (Phil), what a brilliant day we had, this was a rekkie job ready for a meet later in June sometime, My map reading was tested to the max at times which drove me :x trying to work out the route, I said left, Ian said right and Phil done his rad on the green oval badge monster he now drives    I knew we should have gone left. :D anyway after 7 hours of laning and some laughs and photos we returned home, I have sent photos to Ian he will post them with evidence of the bonnet up again....not on the fronty I might add.

Used to live about 30 miles from Thetford, my folks are in Diss, not far down the road. Spent alot of time at santon downham canoeing and camping. Walked the peddars way when I was 14, started at Thetford and walked to the coast.

It was the other Right

What a great day, I must say that for someone who said they dont really know how to read a map, Daz did a fantastic job, espescially as some of the areas we were in (endless forests) there are very few landmarks to trig from. If i'm honest, when we did get lost it was my fault but i found the landowner and promptly went over to appologise for trespassing and explained what had happened, he was great and showed us the way out and had a bit of a chuckle

the lanes were great, ideal for beginners and shiny's alike with a few technical sections (axle twisters and tight turns) but nothing a standard fronty wont do. There was one section i didnt do as the ruts were too deep even for Angelina but there is another track right next to it which i took as Gibbo took his monster truck through it as i spotted for him.

There are some fantastic lanes and really long ones going through forrests, access land, and farm land with varying surfaces from gravel to light mud at this time of year, to loose flint roads, to grass (as no vehicle had been down there for a number of years), to slippy slidey wide sand tracks through the forrest.

I really cant wait to lead a group over there now. And i will start a new thread in the relavent section when i know what dates i can do. I would class myself as experienced and as most of you know, my truck is my baby so would not think of taking someone where they will damage the truck, but i really enjoyed the challenges the day had to offer.

The best bit had to be getting the photos of the green oval with the bonnet up as Angelina sat there purring, having not missed a beat all day (sorry Phil, it would be rude not to take the P) and my bonnet was only up to check fluid levels as i have a leaky clutch slave :P

Daz has swnt me the piccies but although his map reading skills are excellent, his email addy reading skills are poop so if anyone has the addy of rabbit4x4@btinternet.co.uk them are my photies, can i have em back

Thanks for a great day guys
