Hello All,

I have been watching the weather forecast for a few days so had a good idea what today was going to be like. We went for a general mooch around our village and found a few puddles. The we moved onto Ewenny area, just outside Bridgend.

Met a couple of Landies doing the same thing....

We then moved onto Coed Y Wallas, which normally looks like this

Here are few pics of one of the Landies going through it....

Went into town to check a warehouse we had seen advertised then decided to call it a day, called my Mother and said we will pick you up in 10 minutes and go to the local pub for dinner. On the way home made a last minute decision to go via a local flooding hot spot called the "Dipping Bridge (Been through earlier but there was only large puddle on the road).
Coming down the slight incline could see a BMW X5 (?) facing us but within 10 yards of the edge of the water on the flooded road. Millions of apologies everybody but we didn't have the heart to take any pics.

He was sitting there with his hazards on. I got out but struggled to see who was in it due to the light shining off his wind screen, after a few moments his drivers window rolled down, he seemed a little reluctant to get out! The next thing he shouts out is "Do you think I should try starting it again"

My Mrs went onto a small bank on the (Passenger) side of the road and offered our assistance by telling them that we had a rope if he wanted us to pull them out. The driver said to my Mrs "Can you tie the rope on cos you got walking boots on!!" The BMW is in about a foot of water!!

Any way he eventually gets out after taking his shoes and socks off   , but can't find his tow hitch on the front. I joined him in the water after putting an old pair of boots and rolling up my trousers. Still could not find the front hitch. Next thing a Disco pulls up next to him and we agree to tie the rope to his rear hitch around the Disco's tow hitch and pull him back through the water and onto the bridge. We then drove around and met up with them the other side of the flood. I was very sure the Fronty could manage the flood but didn't want to look like this idiot if anything did go wrong, plus he had been pulled onto a single track bridge by the Disco.

Anyway got around to the other side of the flood to rescue my rope, had a laugh with the guy's in the Disco, the BMW driver was embaresed beyond belief and very reluctant with his thank you's (T*@t).

Unfortunately this is the only pic we got, this was after they had been pulled out and were waiting for BMW rescue to come and pick them up. :D :D

Just thought I would share this with you all.

Cheers
Huw.
