Lets see if we can get a Midlands Meet going...

Firstly, we need to see where we all are located - Me, I'm on the border of Walsall and Sandwell.

How about a mid week, or Sunday lunchtime pub meet. I would'nt mind driving for half an hour or so for a social and a shandy.

Perhaps if this takes off, we could do a monthly meet at each members favourite country pub during the summer.

Any takers ?

Just a suggestion, but wouldn't a meet somewhere like a simple off road type of place be more suitable?

Yep, it would but then you need to know where you can go,
how many vehicles will turn up (not all of us will be driving Fronties!)

So, our Midlands users appear to be spread around the following areas:

Trugga Walsall
bikemad1200 Derby
lotusfrontera Burntwood, STAFFS
Site Admin Worcester
Apache-Andy Stratford upon Avon area
SolihullSteve Solihull
steve churm Telford, Shropshire.
Lenny1969 Wirral

Whilst I was thinking along the lines of an informal social meet, there is no reason why we should not make it a play day.

4x4funday (http://www.4x4funday.co.uk) operate the following pay and play days:

MAY 21st - Sunday - 10-4pm - FARLEY QUARRY, nr Shrewsbury/Telford
MAY 28th - Sunday - 10-4pm - WILDMOOR, nr Bromsgrove.
JUNE 11th - Sunday - 10-4pm - ASTON CANTLOW, nr Henley in Arden
JUNE 18th - Sunday - 10-4pm - FARLEY QUARRY, nr Shrewsbury/Telford

Having been to Aston Cantlow twice, it is a bit small/samey being just a field with a bit of mud and some small climbs. Can anyone reccomend either of the other sites?

Personally, I can't make any of the above dates (as I will be 1. Chief Marshal for a National charity Fun Run in Sutton Park, 2. Radio marshal on the NORC Safari, 3. Chief Marshal on the Rally of the Midlands, 4. Radio marshal for the Dukeries rally - I'm sure there is a BORC Safari in there somewhere as well)

I'd be up for it too, but would need to know date as I work shifts. Any day could be a possibility for me due to the way my shift patern runs ! Just need to know where and when and I can say "yay" or "Nay" as to whether I can make it or not !

p.s. I am in Nuneaton, north Warwickshire
Drive it like it's a DAKAR Racer !

Has anyone thought of organising a meet yet.

I don't mind putting one together, but as I said in my last post, I'm a bit busy untill then end of June.

If someone wants to nominate a pub meet social, I'll see if I can pop along (I just don't have the time to do the ground and paperwork at the moment).

Here's a thought - Bank holiday Monday (ie, next Monday, the 29th May), The Holly Bush at Little Hay (a little country pub with a big carpark). No offroading nearby but a chance to meet over a soft drink, check out each others rides etc

Map

Interested ?

Good on you Steve

Say, from 12:00 - I'll be in the Frontera !!

I'll appologies now, as I'll probably have the woo woos on as I'd have been marshalling on the Sunday.

I'll bring some green laning stuff if you fancy a gander.
