Can we make a correction on the turnout we had 13.5 fronties and 1 landie which was a brilliant turnout. Glad the RAC Knight sorted you out coco, was nice to see more of your fronty this time ( less muddy ) and the trailer was great.

The one from today is still unlevel, still need to raise the front another 1". I drove it around today, to let everything settle before final fettling.. And don't forget the springs have got to sag a little before everything settles as it should do.

He probably drilled the locating hole in the axle in the wrong place!!
Dont forget Milner did tell him they had cured the problem with the 14mm locating stud back to 12mm. "ha ha"

Thank for the advice.

Just been out this morning, jacked truck up and loosened all the bolts, checked everything is ok, dropped back down off jack, drove around the block, then retightend everything back up without the jack.

Then I found this piccy from the first offroad meet, without the new suspension :

Image

Not the best piccy but,
It was the same before any new parts where fitted, slightly more forward.

When underneath, I checked proshaft joints, checked for any sign of leaks etc, the locating hole on the axle clamps is dead centre to the bottom leaf spring either end. Nothing stands out. Car drives fine, infact better then every before.

If infomation there is about 25mm (1") difference between the rear side to the front side of the arces.

Right. For once I'm going to show you I AM semi intelligent.

Just been doing a bit of maths and wizardary on computer to explain why the rear end seems out of alignment with the arches.

First a few measurements.

Front end lifted by 1.25"

Rear end lifted by 4.00"

Below is a picture. The coloured section is without the lift.

The black and white section is how the vehicle looks with the added lift dimensions.

Image

Now i hope you agree, this now claifiies why the geometry looks a little odd.

Don't forget I have only techincally added +2" extended read shackles. The extra 2" is from the springs. After a few weeks, the rear springs should drop by about an inch or so, shorting the gap even further.

Thanks for all those who commented. If any one has any other suggestions or theories, please post them.

Right, Let's get :offtopic:

First of all. I would like to thank everyone who turned up, and hopefully those who did, enjoyed it just as much as me. Unfortunately, I missed out on the Beer and Food,, but I had reports that it was great.

Secondly, I would like to thank ( ) Alex (a.k.a GHENGIS KHAN), 4x4 Bobby (a.k.a GOD), and
4x4 Chrissy (a.k.a SEXY SUSAN), for stitching me up like a not nice last night with my moblie phone.

It gave MRS MUCKER (:grumpy:) a good few hours of fun last night and this morning,
and best of all, everyone had a laugh at my expense.

See you all next month. 8)
