Passed MOT !!!

Postby Ricko on Sat Jul 07, 2018 9:03 pm

Well we've passed again for another year. I rebuilt the back brakes with new callipers two weeks ago and apart from advisories on CV boots she's passed again.
Great feeling with an old truck!

Aye, I did have to remove a few dash warning light bulbs though, just to make sure!

lol mines had the abs warning light linked to the low fuel lamp so it comes on for a few seconds then goes off when started ,it normally fools the tester as i cant seem to fix and theres no proper fault with abs

My dash lights used to flash like a Christmas tree.
I solved the airbag light with a cable tie around the block connector below the seat.
The engine management light is showing as an EGR fault, I tried cleaning it but it still comes on!
The 4wd light likes to come on occasionally

There goes your alibi

If you can find someone nearby with a dealer type tool, you should be able to see what the fault codes are for the ABS directly
This should tell you what sensor is at fault or what is wrong to cause the fault. you can see wheel rotation/speed etc.

but to be fair, you can also test this with a multi-meter.

It's either going to be reluctor rings or one of the abs sensors ( front left and right wheel or rear diff / center ).
Best get it sorted if you can.. sometimes the fix is not expensive.. and better safety for you and others.
