Doh, no wasn't on , it's cut out twice and would start again today, locked car tried again no luck.
I've been told now it's not immobiliser but fuel running back to tank? Is this possible? I'm ready to throw towel in !! But it's such a nice car.

Normally eml flashes with immobiliser fault does it fail to start if you park with bonnet facing up hill? Mine had non starting/intermittent issue and was fuel draining back to tank replaces all pipes problem solved. Get it fixed as cranking with no fuel in the pump will knacker it and will cost about 1k

Thank you, did you replace all pipes? From tank straight through? Or just on engine back to pump ? Ta

The leak off pipes can also cause similar issues and are cheap/easy to replace so start with these first. The pump is part of the engine in the bay and you would need to replace feed and return lines to the tank.

sometimes you need to wait a few seconds till most of the dash lights go out

If you turn to engage the car quickly it can sometimes overtake the immobiliser signal, I normally wait for about 5 secs before full ignition
