SWB 2.0lsport Lplate
Bought truck in private sale in december. Test drove OK small oil leak on sump, steering wobbly over 50mph bit tatty 155,000 on the clock , no tax, 11 months mot.
Re registered on new years eve at DVLA in Brum (Previous owner disabled driver)
Engine siezed solid newyears eve afternoon
Replacement engine found locally,55,000 miles, guarenteed for three months
Checked oil pump, waterpump, new plugs, new clutchplate, new timing belt and fitted into truck.
Oiled, watered, fuelled tested it ranl ike a three legged pig at first then smoothed out after a while.
Changed leaking sump the following day(nightmare job whilst in truck)
Ran with injection cleaner in fuel Had tracking checked and wheels ballanced (no more steering wobble)
Waterpump went,new pump fitted
Rear window sattered found one in scrapyard and fitted.
Clutch cylinder clevis and pin worn, replaced.

I must say she is running ok at the moment still loads of little jobs to do.
Was I unlucky or is this to be expected with a truck of this age.

As with any car it depends on how well it has been maintained over the years.

Hi m8 and welcome :D :D :D

With 155,000 miles and best part of 14 years old its going to need some maintenance, as with most vehicles of similar age/milage.

Plus fixing all the things the previous owners couldn't be bothered to do
Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one :-(

Is there anything else I need to be aware of. I will drop all the oils next weekend engine, trans, diff etc as I only topped them up previously.
