The irony I found was car spares wanted 80+vat and they get them from j&r :shock:

It's mad really and goes to show shopping around really counts :dance:

As for what I did today, used it for a tip run...again :roll:

J&R do trooper ones as well. A guy on ITOC fitted them and has yet to break one after some serious abuse.

Replaced the rear exhaust section, massive difference to the heat inside the truck as I can now drive with the windows shut :lol:

well last week my old 2.8 was very poorly today she looks a million bucks i bought a replacement d/s door as the old one was well rusted and rear d/d door handel steering idler then got the garage to fit them adjsut w/b on the both front wheels some welding mot now she back for more

Yesterday.....I did somthing I havnt done in a VERY long time......

I washed it :shock:

Took me about 2hrs in total, cleaned inside the wheel arches, hozed down as much of the chassis as I could get at, hozed down the engine bay and then got out the old bucket and spondge and ZipWaxed the body to get all the crud off. Wash and wax all in 1....great stuff!

Well me and 3 mates are going to Norwich for the weekend tomorrow...so I though I better make a effort

They still have 3 to 4mm of treat on them....dont u worry

part of my problem is that alot of the tread blocks have been ripped off :evil:

Let em down dan, and run on the writing on the sidewalls...should get more grip than your tread then! :lol:

Well i fitted the engine in the 2.5td that a got off Si (boxcleva) on friday morning and got it all put back together by 2.30pm

Took her for a run up the street and back all was fine to start with nice and quiet then, One hell of a clattering sound from the clutch area.

was i and thought it was the thrust bearing on its way out or had come off the clutch fork. So turned it off and had a quick look to see if i could see anything but every thing seamed in the right place,starting to get realy

by this point, so thought to my self take it for another run up the street and see what i can hear/feel. Reversed it off the path and dipped the clutch and she started to rev up on her own so switched it off and tried to restart her, and nothing just the starter spinning as if it wasn't engaging. Only 1 way to find out put it in gear hand break off and turn the key starter engaged and pulled her back on to the path ????.
Now i bet you are wondering what has happened because i sure was. so left alone till yesterday.
Engine turns by hand and all 4 compressions are good but still not off the starter ??. so began to think the worst as in the crank shaft had snapped just after number 4 cylinder, only way fo find out was to drop the gearbox (yet again lol) and have a look. lucky me crank shaft is fine but it has sheared the 6 flywheel bolts. Took about 45 mins to get the snapped bolts out, and is costing me around the £30 mark for new bolts, seals and a locating pin.
so am happy so far

on the 2.5, replaced the lower ball joint and the wheel bearings + the shock N/S only i will do the other side tomorrow.

on the 2.2, then removed one torsion bar bolt which adjusts the ride height. because i sold it for £7

today me and foggy fitted my new shocks that arrived this week.
so now have monroe shocks all round. :dance:

did take off 2 different shocks from the front tho :oh yer:

and dan if your in norwich tomorrow i may have to look out for you, maybe stuck on a slippery painted line :lol:

You have got an up to date passport have you Dan ... you need it if your staying more than 1 day. We are quite territorial here in "Naarrrch"

Fitted the Recips for tomorrow :thumbup:

And zip tied a water hose that looked a little too close to spinney things in the engine
