I realised that my front right outer cv joint had split, and by split I mean in two, and caked everywhere in cv grease! Gonna have to do both boots on the outside as I found out they the original ones from the factory! :shock:

Quite therapeutic sitting on a tyre doing CV boots, just the grease gets every where :lol:

Yeah we shall see how short a temper I got too trying to undo ball joint bolts :evil:

Or any other bolt that won't move with a six foot breaker bar on it :roll:

The grease I can cope with, makes sure nothing's gonna rust :lol:

Use a split boot, half an hour and you only need take the wheel off :thumbup:

They any good? Last one I tried just turned out to be a mess and waste of money.

Ive had them last a few years and that with many a rough laning day :wink:

today i got a nice package arrive at my work bench

had it was my front monroe shocks

Started up for the first time in about 6 weeks - started first time

Found the rear o/side window has been leaking and the boot space carpet has soaked up few gallons of water, making it a bit pongy :evil:

Lifted the carpet and thankfully the floor of the car is rust free, just needs drying out.

Broke my drivers window. Won't wind up or down. I reckon 22 year old electrics are at fault.

Replaced coolant hose to turbo.
Adjusted valve clearances - doesn't sound like nuts and bolts being shaken in a can now!
Adjusted rear shoes
Removed what was left of the rear brake disc guards
Unblocked and re positioned rear diff breather

That last one saved you a whole world of pain boxy.

I have just finished upper and lower ball joints cv boots and cv joints on drivers side. :dance:

and now to do the other side :shock:

Once i done that im not going near another joint for the rest of my life!!!
i got the joints for £20 each new

and i could collect from them saving on postage

went to change brake pads. found out old ones still have a third left so put the wheels back on. should've checked more closely but oh well, got a spare set now.
