Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Mk.I Trooper handbrakes are made up of 5 lengths of cable running from the dash mounted handbrake. They stretch after a while. Also the adjusters on the rear calipers are pants and have to be continuously tweaked as the pads wear. Pain in the proverbial. Will nip them up for the test to hopefully get a pass, then slacken them slightly to prevent bind.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!This afternoon power was lost in some parts of Argyll, including where I am - consequently the Fronty is now being used as a generator via a power converter to allow the family to maintain a bit of "normality". At least I know the cooling fan is working OK - hopefully no damage being done.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well i picked it an hour ago then went shopping why the delay.
Failed but a good fail Offside windscreen wiper not clearing screen Nearside headlamp aim to low Nearside position lamp excessive deteriorated so that light is not visible from a reasonible distance offside frontwheel bearing rough when rotated Not a bad fail the wheel bearing cost me £45 quid for the N/S last year an i had to order it. i suspected the wheel bearing may flag up i think the rear side light is the bulb Advisories offside and nearside anti roll bar linkage has slight play and slight free play in steering. _________________ Made in scotland 1989 Isuzu Trooper 2.6 (3.1 conversion )

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Power was off for about 3 hours during which time the Fronty was used as a generator - enough to power the TV, Decocoder, lighting and a charger.
Cooling fan cut in and out as necessary, engine never boiled, oil pressure stayed about a quarter/half despite being well warm. No steam so very impressed. An unusual use admittedly. Kodiak Transglobe 2.0 SWB

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well today I condemned the Elephant to the carpark in the sky .
gearbox input shaft bearing buggered So I decided to investigate further as to what caused it and my lack of drive ,the box turns by hand so not seized ,so I put a bolt in the bell housing and used a screwdriver to turn the engine via the suprisingly intact flywheel and had to dive out of the way as it jumped off the engine and tried to wreak it`s horrible vengence on my nut . All six of the bolts holding it on had sheared. The money pit is being broken for bits pm me if you wants any. Veni Vidi Lychee I came I saw I ate fruit
