WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Drove the thing...for the first time in three weeks..oh it feels nice, if slightly odd (after driving the wife's civic)..

new bigend bearings fitted yesterday, oil changed today..(need to add some moly..) sounds so much better and feels great..

So out of pure excitement started loading for the annual..got two more days of work to make sure she's fine though

I washed it,polished it,and painted in the wheel arches,and the chassis

Dismantled dashboard to replace knackered bulb on speedo side of binnacle - got covered in thedried out foam stuff thats been in since new. Filed out a small piece of plastic in the switch blank area of the dashboard to accomodate a VX switch for my roof spots. Established the switch I have acquired is "press in" to turn the component off and with the switch in its outer (normally off) position the component becomes live

So now writing a wiring diagram to have the switch look "normal" whilst controlled by a concealed master switch. Drilled out a heated seat switch blank to accomodate the "roof lights on" tell-tale LED. All good fun.
Mrs has this evening announced kids want to go exploring at the weekend (possibly from Friday) so I've got the next two days to put it all back together again, and do the oil change and pressure wash underneath and apply the waxoyl :shock:

think its gonna rain the next two days, think need to meet up an do some xploring in a wee convoy

nar, first viewing will be at the annual meet

New timing belt kit fitted this morning, so good for another 40k or so.

Finally adjusted the passenger rear calper so the handbrake could work, only for Fudge to notice both the tail pipe and back box are knackered. When adjusting the handbrake we realised the drivers side caliper is knackered as well :evil:

replaced the N/S spring as it was snapped and also fitted the 2" lift spacers and wound up the front to match ready for the annual meet

Nothing on at work this week so truck is sitting on four ramps and I'm halfway through dropping the gearbox to fit new clutch, newclutch master cylinder,new crank case oil seal. gbox and engine oil change and a new oil pressure sender to fit. So I should be all ready for saturday.

Managed to gat all the cross member bolts out without shearing any off. Will also give the crossmembers and all the protective tin work a coat of paint whilst they're off . Going to be a busy boy tomorrow

Well the truck is now ready to get on the road for the Annual Meet. All clean, oil's changed and loaded. Caravan all done and loaded, more like a mobile garage than a caravan. I think my workshop's empty!!!! :wink:

timing belt, fan belt, power steering belt and water pump all been fitted today.

washed it , adjusted the handbrake , and put the old wheels back on incase i get brave over the weekend

new dvd fitted
