Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Put the new battery in, epoxied the stoopid indicator cover back on (hopefully it'll hold this time) and got one of my recovery points fitted to the back. Drilling the holes took so damn long I had lost the will to live by the time I'd done one (sat there with the drill for the best part of an hour) so I'll do the other one next week...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Made a Landrover 90 roof rack fit a fronty....and welded a load of accessory brackets to it
actually does anyone know the recommended weight limit for lwb roof bars???? Will save loads of time if it attaches to the existing bars sooner than directly to the roof... Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

if the any of the kit fails they willl either pay for the repair of the engine or the supply of a new/recon engine So total spent so far including purchase of the truck £875.00 and no mods yet
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Just pulled the back seat out.
Emptied a tin of wd-40 on the sidestep bolts and that stupid nut and screw that tightens the steering up. Now I just have to sit and wait..........*yawns* No More Nails, Duct Tape and a big hammer. Who needs a tool kit?!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Just been on a womble to Machine Mart, and an exploratory underneath the Bus...
Machine Mart bit was easy, £12 for a grease gun, and £7 for an oil suction pump doobrie (for use on the gearbox & diffs). Even filled the grease gun in 5 minutes with just the use of one rag Underneath the Bus though, not so good. It has been mentioned that my funny noise from the rear was a UJ in need of grease (and now there's no sound insulation in the back, that is indeed where the noise is coming from) hence the grease gun. Managed to find and fill the 3 on the front prop, and the 1 at the gearbox end of the rear. However, there is no grease nipple on the diff end UJ. New UJ is in order then Also it's definite that the gearbox rear prop seal leaks (but that's only a tenner from Vx) as does the rear diff pinion seal (Hound Dog found this for me at about £20) but neither of these are show-stoppers. UJ's a little more tricksy, as Milner it seems are out, and I am not paying Vx prices. Time to try the local factors then. Oh, and the reason for no sound insulation in the back is that it's all down the tip. There was an incident with a large container of waste oil in the back (with the lid not properly on it turned out Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I wouldnt have....... Braked that is. B***dy things are like an infestation round here, bit like horse's with their 'attitude equipped' riders. Proper pain and IMHO shouldnt be on the road (until they get sufficient training, learn manners and cough up for the road tax, insurance etc).
At least you can stick a nag on the BBQ so they do have some use, but bikes? don't cook very well and can scratch the old paintwork when you go over them, although I do find they do more damage to the underneath when you reverse back over them for a second attempt. I live near enough in the middle of a smallish Oxfordshire town, there is a horsey type that lives round the corner from us who seems to insist on riding said nag down what is a pretty busy residential street, with kids in it, said horse is well skitty with cars and often does the large ones all the way down the road, does she come and pick it up? does she hell... OF course if it was a dog owner allowing their animal to foul the street then she would be one of the first on the phone to the 'grass yer neighbours' up phone line run by the local council. Horses/bikes? on the road? hate em. Their the reason god invented bull bars This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I fitted new fog lights to my truck today, it never had any, so had to wire in a loom and relay and switch too.
I bought the Ring fitting kit which made things sooo easy, Looks the dogs danglies now too. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Rich; All the factors round here were either out of stock, or didn't do it and referred me to Vx. Milner's are out of stock too, as are Vx Green Parts, and while Hound Dog managed to locate one at a good price, I'd already spoken to South Wales Props (ta Dwifty
Snapper; Sadly no matter what had actually happened, if I'd hit the bike, guess who'd have got the blame, and as a full time driver, I cannae take stupid risks. Cyclists are a pet hate of mine, given their general attitude, and suicidal nature (penchant for having headphone on whilst riding, and no lights, etc, at night) but nothing seems to get done, and as above should anything happen, it's us nasty polluting car drivers who get the blame.
