Today I changed ...............

Prop Shaft
Prop Shaft Oil Seal (The one in the rear of the gear box NOT the Pinion Seal)
Drained and refilled Gearbox.

Just got to change the steering idler and re-seal the rear diff cover.

fitted my new cat in preparation for the re-test..

Today we set some tyres on fire :lol:

To blow them up obviously :lol:

I did a swap with Colley :dance:

Nice, I love that redneck method of attaching tyres :-D

Don't know if its very healthy for the tyres though, but definitely a nice trick for a field repair!

Took the r/o/s wheel hub cap off - yep found the offending piece of plastic rattling around inside the cap. Will now have to fix it.

i booked it in for the MOT tomorrow morning 10am. i don't finish work until 4am so that's me running on 4 hours sleep tomorrow

I went and bought some rubber bushes for the rear shocks on Chugga (that's one of the things we couldn't get done on Saturday). Believe it or not....Mk1 Escort one fit. :shock:

£10 later, and I have them ready for the weekend ** FINGERS CROSSED **

This evening i have mostly been attacking the crusty side steps with a grinder, i banged me shin on them one to many times, now they are gone for good.

Added the second shot of Redex into the tank - am I noticing any improvement? well, maybe, maybe. Will keep using it for a few more months.

fitted lower balljoint and drop link to the n/s ..... and managed to break the wire for the abs sensor in the process :evil:

today i found out i need an MOT(fought it still had a month

) so booked it in for thursday
so in prep for that i removed the steps,(roten) and took my tank off to change the cover, now i have got a nice tank cover that doesn't have any rust holes in it.

and i am now hoping it will go through

After months of not using the shorty due to a diff oil leak and other bits i decided its time to investigate the cause of the oil leak..Pinion seal is blown caused by a blocked breather on the chassis...Couldn't be bothered to sort the old breather out so fabricated a new breather which is now working a treat ...Hopefully going to get the pinion seal done next..One part off the list of things to sort

Well finally after the sun came out at 12pm i took the young-un to school after having topped the clutch fluid up only for it to start revving on its own between 1500 and 2000 rpm

made a phone call and was told possibly one of the vac pipes so i checked all them and nothing found but then i just nudged a connector on the throttle body and it settled down

must be the electronic idle control??

Got home and started replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

then set about removing the so called repaired but blowing exhaust only to find that bodjit and scarper had done the work, i undid 4 bolts
( 2 at the CAT and 2 on the big box side mount) and the damn thing just fell off not even connected to the tailpipe and no signs of ever being gunked when 1st assembled either :shock:

you shouldnt of laid them down together cos now you wont know which is the old one

MoT today for mine at 2pm, so have been going around Tessie doing last minute checks on every thing.
Have noticed one of the little brats around here have pinched on of my side repeater lenses :axe:

, so a friend has said i can borrow her cavilier one for the day :dance:
