It was me

Went over to A friend to pick up the steering wheel and got talking about the egrs and birds nest and the next thing i know this was on the floor

Lets just say i was a bit worried when he started pulling off bits of pipe and electrical gubbins and throwing it on the floor saying 'YOU DONT NEED THAT'.
Anyway after a few minutes of pulling pipes off he said you best try and start it as you may have needed that pipe  You got me good
A friend then put my new steering wheel on.
Would just like to say a big thankyou for all your help mate :D

Thats a lot of gubbins there. Wondering if the same can be done on my Trooper 2.8. Blanked the Valves off, just lots of pipework left over.

Today I mostly spent my time removing 20 year old paint and rust off my front bumper and nudge bars. Got a great finish on the bars, only to have a glove fall on them and ruin it. Will have to sand it flat again and give another coat over the weekend. Inside face of the bumper was like the grand canyon, however after attacking with a wire drill brush and a thick coat of hammerite its sorted. The front isn't too bad, so will only need a coat of paint to cover up the blemishes.

Oddly enough the dicky body mount wasnt even mentioned and the emissions were way less then then expected so it seems I can drive the old girl without fear of murdering the ickle butterflies or retribution from the tree huggers.

As long as hard working sensible practical Frenchfarmers aren't included in that eco slur I'll let you off on that one. Nothing gets me more upset than townies telling us how to run the countryside so that they can get the full Hollywood experience at the weekends. Every bit of land belongs to someone and very few of them won it in a raffle. Takes a lot of hours and hard work to buy a farm honestly.

Well today I did my handbrake - cables had stretched, it was on 10 CLICKS!!!!! so needed doing.
so I took the centre console out - which was quite easy with two screws only holding it! I adjusted the cables to 5 clicks :D works great! :D :D

Had a look at my shocks, totally shot!!!! :x Had a go at trying to remove and see what the problem was - but they are far too knackered - so left as is.
All the gear but no idea

Stripped and checked front brakes greased sliders and reassembled. Pulled up rears again and adjusted the hand brake.
Then the big jobs, dropped the prop off checked cleaned and greased all ok. Replaced gearbox output seal and then changed the input seal on the rear Diff. The nut holding it on was the tightest thing I've ever undone on my truck. As some of you know my health isn't the best I found it very tiring just getting on and off the floor without struggling to undo the damn thing. Definately the hardest job I've done since I've owned my truck. All done no leaks after topping up. Really pleased with my little self. :D

And I popped up to Houndog's, and attatched a large lump of orange metal to the front bumper...
We now have a rather natty 12.5K winch installed.

Side note, why is it the BBB feels more assured and stable in the wet, than in the dry??

i got stuck on my own land. i tried driving through our stream which has marshy banks, resulting in me getting stuck, ended up needing a disco with a winch, anchoring its self to my dads cherokee while another mate with a vitara was trying to yank me out (snapping a 3 ton strap in the process) took 5 hours to get unstuck :P (didnt have the disco at first though).
