Took the old girl in for an mot this morning, got a call back at 15.30 to say she had failed. Oddly enough it didnt fail on emissions which I thought it would given that the CAT is fubared.

Failed on uneven braking on the front wheels and excessive play in the drivers side ball joint.
Got a new ball joint on order and Im fairly sure that the brakes are down to dodgy brake pads and may need bleeding.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Fitted a new stereo as the other one was packing up from being full of woodchips, mud and dog hair, Sounds like your kinda friday night that Ste   Thought about washing it as going to a 4x4 response induction day on sunday and need to try and get in and out of it in "normal" clothes without getting filthy, do it tomorrow if I can be bothered.

I removed the gear lever gaiter from the trim panel and re-fitted further towards the hand brake - now the trim panel stays in place when reverse is engaged :D

Changed the front brake pads and bled the front brakes for the MOT retest.

For future reference I had EBC greenstuff pads on the front and ever since they have been fitted I felt they just werent gripping the disc well enough.
After changing the pads (regular £20 jobbies) I went for a drive, this was before bleeding the brakes dont forget and even without the pads bedding in yet braking is substantially improved.

This is a shame as the Greenstuff pads are around £40 a set and they arent even a 1/4 worn. They have gone straight into the bin and I will never be buying them again.
A previous post on the forum had suggested Greenstuff pads should only be used with new discs, tried that, still rubbish. I suggest everyone sticks to regular brake pads.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Did nuffin to it today cos I went laning

But yesterday swapped the oil pressure sender unit in an attempt to fix a wildly fluctuating oil pressure gauge and it did  easy fix for a change

Swapped back onto my muds ready for today and took off one of my Hi Lift mounts, redrilled the holes and refitted so I could attach my new HiLift jack :D

General tidy up, check fluids and she was ready to go :D
