WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well as I drive a normally ultra reliable 2.2 Dti me & she went for a drive, only thing of note was getting wheel spin in second while "dragging" a scooby at the lights, pointless exercise but a giggle none the less
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Not so much what I did to the truck but more what I did with it. The Mrs and her friend took a little jaunt over to France for the day for a bit
r+r and some shopping. On the way back there was a bit of a panic as they thought they could smell burning coming from the 07 plate Zafira, so as soon as they could they pulled in to a layby on the dual carriage way or what they thought was a layby. Turned out it was an escape lane for lorries and the Zafira sank into the gravel up to its sills. KITT to the rescue then, hooked up the tow rope, put it into 4WD and dragged the helpless Zafira out of the gravel back onto blackstuff. Ramsgate, Kent

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I saw a Pink fronty in Ramsgate today...lurking outside a row of shops...whilst I was doing some service calls down there...
I yelled..."Oi you with the PINK fronty," out of the window of the works Ashtray.... much to the Krushers amusement.... Turns out that Krusher was there as he was getting some "dressing up clothes" from the fancy dress shop Had a brief chat, then Krusher dared me to try and eat 2 jumbo battered sausages from the chippy....I took the challenge despite the diet as didnt want to be a spoil sport... Then went and did my call nearby....blamed the traffic for being late Hope the dressing up stuff works for you mate... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Finished fitting new copper brake pipes and braided hoses, bled brakes and while I was at it bled the clutch as well as it felt a bit squiffy and looked very black and yucky.
Did oil and filter change on the engine. Was gonna fit new shock bushes but seems to be a mix up with my order from Difflock Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Where to begin, It all started last week. Fitted a new crankshaft sensor and took the car for a drive, no more EML and seemed a bit pokier.
Parked the truck in the garage in preparation for the peak district/lake district trip. Next day loaded up the car with the camping gear in the garage, went to start it and nothing, engine turned over but nowt happening in the sparkplug igniting the air/fuel mixture department. Checked fuel, none happening, checked spark, none happening. Changed relays one by one with spares from the donor car, nothing happening, checked fuses, nothing doing. after a lots and lots more attempts to start the immobiliser started flashing and going haywire. Swapped ecu and immobiliser from donor car, still no spark and no fuel and immobiliser and eml going bonkers, flashing away and generally not doing what they normally do. Sod it, missed the peak district trip but went camping in the lake district anyway, went in Meryls car. Dropped the ECU off at Camco in Warrington to get de-immobilised, picked it up on thursday on the way back. Plugged it into the truck and still nothing except now Im getting fuel but no spark. Traced all the wiring back from the DIS module to the ecu and back again, swapped fuel injection relays with a neighbour to see if that helped. Still nowt. Pretty much at the end of my tether here now as the dash is out of the car along with lots of other bits. On a whim and really as a last resort I put the old Crankshaft sensor back in just to see and guess what, fired up first time. Just finished putting the whole lot back together about an hour ago (3am). Tightened up lots of bolts behind the dash so hopefully no more creaking, cable tied a tonne of wiring loom so no more loose wires under the dash and generally rerouted several cable runs while I was at it. Took ages, felt like hitting summat with a hammer at several points and the worst thing about it was that if I wasnt able to do it myself I wouldnt even have been able to get the car to a garage.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Only meant to copper grease the brake pads on the front to stop the squeeling and ended up regreasing the front bearings and hubs and brake caliper sliders as well as the piston. Had a good old tidy up in the garage as well.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Drove KITT up into london today for a driving assessment for my new job. First heavy traffic been in since new rad fitted. KITT performed
flawlessly unlike some of the newer cars that were sat at the side of the road with streams of coolant running out from underneath them ![]() Ramsgate, Kent
