Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!It started off when the transfer box rear output seal failed on my way to Wales for a annual meet (I think), then became it wasn't my daily drive I forgot about the seal and kept driving it off road. Then it started making some interesting noises so I decided that iit's past the point of return so kept driving it (albeit slowly) then down the woods for last year's August weekender doing a hill climb I lost drive to the front with a big bang, then on the way to the petrol station to be recovered home it momentarily locked with a massive bang (felt like I'd been rear ended). It's been parked up ever since lol. I'm going to open up the transfer box just because I want to see what's happened that made it blow a hole in one side and crack the casing on the other side. All in all I'm fairly pleased with it, I hate it when things just die with no carnage, it's the carnage that makes it worth while lol

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Finally managed to find a passenger side A Series LWB Window Switch and get the windows working again in O-no.
I've been looking for a switch for the last 6 months or so, with no luck and finally managed to track one down on flea bay for a comfy £12.00 delivered. Points to note for the future: Window not going up/down stylee faults are most likely to be caused by dry joints in the wiring and the connectors in the doors are the most likely culprit. 1st i.a should be checking the circuit fuse, once that is confirmed as good then check and clean the connectors behind the door panels before replacing the ecu and switches. Of the front switches the drivers side one is most likely to have worn out through use while the passenger side one is susceptible to voltage spikes and reverse polarity damage in the circuit-board that is connected to it. Not sure what it does, but I think it's likely to be part of the overload timer protection for the lift motors. From my experience any fault on it stops the whole setup from working. Don't try to close a window by putting a voltage onto one of the plugs in the handbrake housing. It'll most likely cook the circuit board on the passenger side switch Oddly enough, switches from the VX Carlton (of the same year range as the fronty) fit, work and are (in my experience) easier to get and a lot cheaper than the Frontera varierty. Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Started pulling stuff off the red 2.8, made space for the 2 B's and the other 2.8 coming in at the weekend, stripped the last of the 2.5lwb, and 2.2i lwbA ready to go to fronty heaven, and....
....found a really tasty 3.2v6 facelift shorty in black, with leather and LPG....and its manual....and subject to clearing some more space, it will be mine...Needs a wing and door and a little paint (its unrecorded salvage), no suspension damage...and it rips!
