This is all correct Frank however i aint putting any holes in me roof for anything this time! Its staying nice!!!!!!!!!

I had my aerial there on my Sportrak for years with no transmitting problems.

It may knock the back window now and again if you catch the aerial on low branches though.

Centre of the roof is the best location, might be OK for your off road toy but not a shiny :wink:

Facing a similar dilema with the D2, want to put it in the centre of the roof but there is no way I am drilling a hole in it :lol:

Started swapping out the LSD on the SWB for my Aussie locker

Same with my truck. Middle of the roof night be best, but it's installed on the spare carrier on the tailgate.
No way that car is ending up with any more holes in the bodywork than it left Luton with in the first place.

A Series, LWB has a nice wee plastic cover thing near the roof edge above the rear pillar on each side. Access to the studs and nuts holding it in place can be gained by removing the trim underneath it and easing the roof lining to one side.

Makes a reasonable place for mounting an antenna, if replaced with a small metal adaptable box it would also make a reasonable place to bring all sorts of leccy stuff to the roof area.

For what it's worth I've fitted the CB Antenna on Truck there and have in the past been able to 'talk' to a couple of users based in Swindon who were using base stations while I was sat on a hill just outside of Brize Norton with a simple short whip antenna on.

Fingers crossed I've permanently repaired my B series dash, been ok for 5 miles so far tonight! Write up to follow incl pictures but mine had previously been apart and somebody had badly tried to solder up the connection strip and broke one of the stepper motors, I did initially try to solder every dry joint and managed to repair the stepper motor and this did get the dash working a lot of the time but not 100% some dials juddered so tonight I replaced all 4 stepper motors with brand new ones from china and added a couple of flying wires to bypass tracks on the board I wasn't happy with and so far so good

Was working fine until the handset decieded to break a wire.

Drilled out two of the 3 sheered off bolts for the back seat. Took the tip off the drill bit so decided to call it a day and grind it tomorrow. Tapped out the two holes plus the one that I managed to get the bolt out of so at least the seat is secured 3/4s.

Might tackle the final bolt tomorrow and maybe the passenger mirror.

My cooling fan switch arrived today so at the weekend I will get some antifreeze and a thermostat. Then hopefully the temperature gauge will rise to normal and the fan will cut in and out as intended. Then the front bumper will become urgent to gain the clearance between the fan and the damaged bumper

Fitted my new mud tyres insa turbo special tracks 265/75/16r now ED sits a good 6 inches higher than the standard frontera.

Took Betsy down to Manny at the garage to have a new rear wheel bearing fitted. Turned out that the caliper was sticking on a bent slide bolt. Phew not as costly after all !! :dance:

LWB light conversion
fitted front bumper
flushed the oil twice
attempted to replace the hego sensor
replaced rear brake discs and pads

finished painting my back door and tackled the sills, only surface rust thankfully no welding needed :thumbup:

finally got the right drive shaft and fitted it roll on Wales :dance:

Drove it to the DIY market to get a new lamp.

After a short while another ride to get a new drill to put the bloody lamp on the f****** ceiling.

At least, enjoyed the ride with the Frontera as this day's highlight - again!

Dragged the lwb to the breakers and drove the swb to the test station

Fitted new pads and new to me carrier(thanks Drifty) after hacking off the old carrier also replaced the slider pins on one side 5 finger discount from a scrappies :shh:

This weekend I have

Finished fitted the rear locker into the SWB

Rear LSD from the SWB was collected by Snapper along with a Trooper solid flywheel and clutch kit

Finished stripping the LWB chassis of all its useful bits so its off to the scrap yard tomorrow

Had a good sort out and I can now get the SWB back in the garage :lol:

Had a quick look at the c.v joints on the green one but can't tell which one has gone or even if it's the front diff that's knackered confused.com lol
