Reconnected the battery, fired it up since it hasn't been started for well over a month, reversed it to move the tyres and it felt like one of the rear brakes had seized, gave it abit more boot and bang, out pops a rear brake pad. Just another thing to add to the list of things that need fixing. I wouldn't mind bit that pad still had about 3mm of meat left on it ffs. I just don't understand why this truck keeps throwing rear pads. Tried the winch, nothing on the wireless remote but worked fine on the lead so at least that didn't die when I got stuck lol. Things seem to break on this truck regardless of weather I drive it or not lol so can't be my driving...must just be me presence lol

Sounds like you need to remove the entire rear brake caliper/drum assembly both sides and clean/refurb them mate. No point bodging new pads in and wiping as it seems they are just binding etc.

Also a complete brake fluid flush out would be in order.

and it could be down to the disc's are warn too much for them to be throughing pads

but if you want it gone... i could be interested....

Lol don't tempt me fudge. Its given me more greef than the DTI did O.O

And yeah it needs a new rear end. Pads, disks, shoes and handbrake cables and maybe a new axle as it whines above 25mph :evil:

After spending an hour here and there over the last couple weeks my truck is finally starting to take shape

I still have lots to do but it's getting there

So far I have changed
Brakes
Suspension
Tyres
Front bumper
And some bushes

Had some time to kill after work today so I ripped the carpets up

I was amazed because it was still soaking wet from when I took it down violets lane at least 2 months ago now. The top felt dry but clearly not

Next step is to wash the silt out and paint the floor in some kind of hard wearing paint. Thinking either stone chip of truck bed liner (not sure what the differences are) then get some rubber mats for it so it feels semi normal under foot

Stuck some Molyslip into the Gearbox, Transfer box and the rear axle.

Sorted Chrissy's exhaust out. It was blowing from the front flange. Took it apart and found that who ever fitted it didn't put the woven coller in! :evil:

Never mind all fixed now!!!!!! :thumbup:

well today i have finished the top plate of my winch and bolted back on and then sorted out all the lights

so it now has the 4 spots on the bullbars again :twisted:

and found out why it wasnt accellerating as well as i thourght it should.... and the accerlator cable had about an inch of slack cable... so all tight now and sounds great...
need to take it out some time for a test drive

Purchased a new bottom pulley for the 2.2 that felll off on Monday. I am on nights so it wont get looked at till Sunday

Welded up the hole in the sill on the 2.8 and put it in for its test. Passed no probs this time .Thanks Rich

So driving the the 2.8 to work for the rest of the week.

Finally got round to fitting my roof tent. Time is flying by at the minute for me, and I still have loads to do before i set off to morocco in 6 weeks!!!!

Took the shorty in for its MOT but the garage wouldn't put in through until I've jet washed it. Still had mud on it from the woods. next to the garage was a car wash so £7.50 later it was clean
Back to the garage for it mot and

it failed . N/s front brake imbalance ( sticking ) and flexi hose perished but luckily I have all the brake callipers and new hoses at home

So an hour later the car was back for its retest and it past

but still has an advisory. This is the funniest one ive ever seen on a mot certificate :rotfl:

today i went to the berkshire 4x4 show and got a nice set of 8" wipac spots...

so now i have 4 wipac spots on the bullbars

Yesterday I did rear disks, pads, shoes and calipers- only snapped one bolt! :roll:

Front pads and calipers ( disk are not that old.)
New brake fluid
Two new track rod ends
Fuel filter
Oil and filter change
I have put 5/40 fully synthetic in and half a litre of that Lucas oil stabiliser stuff - rate it :clap:
