Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!It will be a good shake down drive.
I got to use mine to get to a farmhouse where the alarm was going off but the Corsa would have died trying to get down the gauntlet of a drive. If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Not to the truck, altho the same will be happening to it soon. Just put a nice new danyco cambelt kit on the cav @ just over 207k miles. Think it must of had a new belt just before getting parked up for 7 years because the old belt didn't look much different from the new one (wear and tear wise anyway). And it only took me just over 4 hours! Not bad considering I was triple checking everything because I haven't ever done a cambelt before.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Tightened front wheel bearings, adjusted the valves, drained water from fuel filter and greased the prop shafts... Now to do an oil change and fuel filter and ball joints... While greasing the prop shafts, noticed the tail pipe is rotting, so another thing to add to the 'List of All Things Fronty'.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Friday
Gave Kaz a much needed oil change. Black as sin and so so thin it was unbeleivable. Sourced the oil leak as well. Turns out the oil filter was only just tightened and spun off with no effort at all. Looked at the wiring for the oil pressure sensor and one terminal was corroded and loose. Cleaned it up and crimped it slightly to re-attach tightly. New oil and filer and gave her a quick run around the block. All works fine. Gauge now sits just above midway when driving and does the usual 2.3TD oil light on and gauge drops to about the quarter mark when idling. Happy days. Saturday morning she had a baptism of fire as the other half's Ford Explorer has major piston blow by and is drinking oil quicker than petrol (and for a 4.0 V6 thats a lot). Anyways long and short of it is she has to borrow Kaz for work until she can get another truck. So we set off for sunny Northamptonshire bright and early. Was great to see Kaz trundling along in front of me. No smoke (apart from the occasional puff when changing gear). Averaged 70mph all the way (pretty astounding for a 2.3). On the road: ![]() Little and large when stopped for coffee: ![]() On site getting her first taste of mud: ![]() We put her through her paces I can tell you. Lugging some pretty heavy trailors (including a couple of diesel bowsers weighing in at around 4 tons a piece. You can see one in the backgroud of the last photo next to some portaloo's for a rough scale) which she handled with ease. I even tested the 4wd and it works perfectly with no noises or knocks. You have to love these old Frontera's. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
