So after Spending 12 hours on the 2.8 this all I got done. Removed the ball bars and the front bumper with the angle grinder because the bolts were knackered. Then cut the old front smile out. Removed the old steering box , steering idler track rods then replace the lot with the ones off the 2.5 as all the bushes were in better condition. Rust dreated the chassis and replace one of the chassis front body mounts. Then cut the front smile I got off Greg to fit the whole welded all that in and painted it. Flushed out the radiator, fitted the new fan belt. After all that I took it for a small test drive and the steering is still the same as before I'm at a complete loss as the why now. I've checked the trailer arm ,panhard arm ,torsion bars, changed all the steering the only bit I do know is one of the upper ball joint has a small amount of grease leaking out of it. I will order a pair once I've fitted them I will book the car in for a four wheel tracking.

@ andytats. I could be barking up the wrong tree, but a mate of mine had a similar problem to yours on a RWD vehicle a few years ago. Every time he towed, it used to weave about.
Took him weeks to find out what was wrong, but it turned out to be rear suspension bushes. There was nothing visibly wrong with them, but they had gone soft, causing the rear axle to move slightly under strain.
As I said, this could be completely wrong, but ya never know

Completely stripped the entire rear brake system.
Secured the offside front headlight with cable ties. Its more secure than the other held with the official mounts intact.
Fixed broken numberplate bulb wire.

New rear brake shoes both sides.
New rear nearside brake cylinder.
Cleaned and refurbished both rear brake drums.
Bled entire brake system.
Adjusted handbrake (so much easier than the Trooper).
Secured the other headlight with more cable ties. Both now not flobbly.
Now for the MOT retest.
