Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!put a new battery in the remote central locking fob, put water in for the washer jets, checked the oil and pumped the tyres up
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!After sourcing a bit of scaffy pole cut from an old washing line i managed to get the upper and lower bolts holding the brake caliper to the hub off.
This let me finally replace both inner and outer wheel bearings and seals. Also after getting the prop shaft seal from Vauxhall £7.60 i managed to replace this aswell fixing the leak i had. Cheers for the part number Phil ( Sir-Doris). Wire brushed and sanded round my chassis , painted it with hammerite smooth and undersealed wheel arches etc. Finished off painting the sump guards. Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Wired in the CB, ran the radio aerial cable from its new position to the cd player (sorry SKIPPER!!)..
Went down to leysdown carnival, nowhere to park anywhere....but then found the chevybravafing will now climb up a vertical 24" high retaining wall concrete wall which opened loads of parking possibilites...all the kids watching loved it...as got a wheel in the air (had do it diagonally to be able to climb it) and a bit of 4wd low rpm wheel wheel spin as it initially climbed! The fuz didnt say anything while they watched...but one came over later and said.."there is no way our police Landrover 110 would do that"... I replied laughing saying that it is doesnt need to, as a police 110 can be parked wherever they fancy!! Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!replaced inlet & return fuel pipe from fuel rail to first metal pipe in engine bay
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well I ained to change what I thought was a shot lower passenger side ball joint. It wasnt shot, but chased and tightened both front wheel bearings, swapped the drivers upper BJ and the drivers track rod end. Oh and while there put the procomps on the front.
I must say I ran flipped uppers on my SWB from Milners, the bolts that hold the bj to the control arm are cheap, but it has a grease nipple and castleated big nut for the BJ. They ran faultless for a year or so despite abuse. The ones I fitted from a factors had a nyloc for the big nut and the innards of the bj have fallen apart in just 6 months and a couple of outings. Looks like a call to milners as my replacement was the same cheap tat. Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Removed a shim or 2 and finally sorted my camber issue, not the easiest of jobs as they were well stuck with pooh etc but got there in the end.
