jacked the back up cos of viabration and rear prop uj joint knackered 2nd one now so thats my next job

Today I made a start on making my heavy duty rear bumper. The two lengths of tubing I got of Matt ( so its military grade :lol:

) they already had the two bends in them.
In one of the picture you can see the black bit welded on the top that is part of the old frontera rear bumper lol

Pulled the smaller of the 2 crankshaft breathers off today. It felt like a length of plasticine. The inside was completely clogged with gunk. Bought a length off tube to fit tommorow. Hope it may have a positive effect on the oil leaking from the bell housing. (crankshaft seal)

New pads n a little service of the calipers to free em up abit as on my way home from work i managed to push the peddle and touch the floor without stopping :shock:

, siezed caliper :oh yer:

, luckily a bit of lube and some love and shes back :dance:

Then as i was on a roll i decided to throw my 33s on, just for fun

Took one of the cylinder heads off the v6 to be skimmed by the local garage, will be re fitting next weekend

Drove mine round the edge of Sibby whilst setting up a punch challenge event for my local club.

Shall post some pics of the site tomorrow to wet the appetite of those unsure about attending the annual bash.......i must say it was looking a tad wet..

Finished all the welding on the rear bumper it just needs painting now

washed it and hoovered it

Greased the cross joints and inspected the bottom of the truck.

Needs a good clean up and another inspection then...

Removed the trim, gear levers and both propshafts in preperation for removing the gearbox. Exhaust next, then the electrics, then the x-member and gearbox mount followed by the gearbox.

Knocked this up as well to help getting the gearbox out and then back in without dropping it on me head!

It's got a 250kg ratchet lever hoist on it. While I wouldnt want to lift the engine on it, it should do the trick for the gearbox. Just need to fit some bracing to the frame and it's sorted.

Wind down windows and plonk a 4"x4" lump of wood across and a ratchet strap through the hole, job done simple and redneck

And maybe some feet? Dont want it damaging the floor bud, looks good tho, great idea :thumbup:

. How do you find the 2.3? ive got one sat in my mates yard, should do summat with it really as its MOT'd til NOV 13

just needs a small sump repair and shes all good :thumbup:

na a bit of kemi metal and that will be back to normal
