Tryed my luck on the MOT thinking it was going to fail on the handbrake only working on 1 wheel...and well yes it did fail, but only due to a slit in a tyre and the nearside headlight being too high. Going in for its free retest tomorrow

Broke it ... Grrr.

Power steering idler pulley bearing siezed at 50 mph in the dark and blizzard. Popped the belt off and limped her home. 2 ton 4x4's on 33's are effin heavy turn with no assistance.

You wanna try it for a weekend with a welded front diff as well Neal!!! :lol:

That should be a sealed bearing with 8 balls. Those are the sealing sides which have ground off, and I could only count 6 balls.

Lack of maintenance...I blame the owner. :lol:

I popped the dust seals out on mine cleaned it out and re greased the race and put it back together, have done this for years with sealed bearings

Neal, pesamists would say it feck'd, optamists would say the new-ness has worn off. But we'd all say rotten luck just when you had got the pump back on and all.

To beat the walk in the snow, right the bearing company order and pay over the phone then get a Taxi company to collect it and bring it round to you. Makes the bearing more expensive but it gotta be better than a walk in the snow. Use this with "take-aways" on occasion.

Fixed it ... again. One new bearing, and a service later she runs once more.

Even filled the other gear stick hole.
