Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted a new shiny alternator to the truck...
Got it from these folks, discount if you ring them up. Ordered Monday, delivered Tuesday... Took three days (evenings) to get the last bolt out, and about 15 mins to drag the old one out and fit the new one once the bolt came out!!! This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck. Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left here Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That's unusual. The bottom bolt isn't normally too bad to get out , but can be a living nightmare to get back in !
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!It was a doddle to get back in, but getting the thing out.... Didnt help that it was pi****g down, was dark and a puddle or was it a river? had formed under the truck. And the problem was compounded by the fact that the bolt had two groves worn in it by the alternator which were doing a good job of jamming it all up

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!When we did mine the bolt had rusted up and it was the rust itself stopping the bolt coming out, it would turn and we could even get the nut off, but I think it took us a long prybar (aka the breaker bar) and a ratchet strap to press the bolt out

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted the bash protectors I got off hippo1024 last night. Fitted one at Cambridge last night lol and got the other one on this morning (slight difference in the brackets between the two trucks). Really pleased with them
Have to start saving for the winch stuff next lol. Oh my two shackle brackets off a Landy arrived so going to bolt them through the tow bar with some sleeves. Means I can take the tow arm off for clearance but still have somewhere to tow landy's out of trouble Cheers Alan Alan
