WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Fitted the new shocks off the 2.6 onto the bighorn. The bighorn had one original shocker (blue) and that dodgy yellow one on the rear. They were diffrent sizes no wonder it threw its self about the road on bends it sits better now on the road less bouncing and skipping

Took the truck for its mot. felt confident it would pass after all in the last 12months its had
new brake pipes front to rear
new front shocks
new front pads and a through clean of the front disks and calipers
new handbrake shoes and rear pads
new handbrake cables

picked her up and she failed on
both rear shocks
both rear springs are fractured
lower drivers side ball joint exsessive play
upper passenger side ball joint excessive play

so new shocks new springs and all four ball joints ordered bloody car

Did you get your springs off Mark(MG Autos) on here mate??

Tried to start it but battery nearly flat. Booster started it then moved it infront of house and put it on charge.

Springs arn't off mg autos springs are the original ones and its been used to tow caravans so not surprized they were naffed.

I think you may have been the only one to interpret Danny's post like that Mark. I thought it fairly obvious he was referring Dave's choice of replacement spring, not the original fubarred ones.

Unfortunately not the only one mate as it was brought to my attention via a PM by someone else on FOG so as I said in my post, thought it's only fair to try and make some inquiries and as I say, if it had been a product I'd supplied I'd be happy to try and rectify any issues but thank you to Jellybaby for confirming that this was his factory fit springs that have failed and NOT any product that I've supplied. :thumbup:

That's how I read it as well Danny. Anyway, I think we've established no one has an issue with Marks springs, and if they did he would discuss it with the purchaser.

Well today I removed the gearbox from the 2.5 frontera so I could check the dual mass flywheel cos I may of sold the flywheel. And by the looks of it it's in good nick.

As for on topic.. yesterday i went through Coughton court ford and was amazed at how much water was there and how fast it was flowing. First time through in 2 wd wasnt the best idea almost went downstream :oops:

4wd was the way forward a few more times :twisted:
