WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

today i started to strip mine :butt:

wile my grinder battrey was on charge i was looking over my merc, and found the locking wheel nut key, and it was well and truely screwed.
so i had a go at getting them off and who ever put the wheels on did it up very tight with a nut runner by the looks of it and buggered it all up :evil:

so i had a mad dash to my good friend at the local tyre place and he luckly got them all of,
he is such a good guy

then back to sort out the fronty
droped my winch on my toe and may have broken it :oh yer:

and now it looks like this

prepped up and painted my new tank support.
Took the fuel tank off and got it seated in the new support.
took the remainder of the exhaust centre section off.

Then ran out of day light, so put it all back together tomorrow

On Wednesday I put in some Wynn's lifter cleaner as I had a tappet making a noise. Drove it to work as the Golf is of the road and on start up this morning all was sweet and quiet! What good stuff that is!!!

Second that bobby .... its the only addtive I have ever used and always have had good results :thumbup:

I wasn't expecting it to be that good but its great stuff. Ile definitely use it again if needed.

I just taxed mine as of Monday

Next couple of weeks and I'll be good to drive it again

God I have missed driving!!

Ordered up ABS rings, HID kit, soaked ball joint bolts in penertrant.. Researched winch and lifting on FOG...

Just fitted the CB into the drivers side foot well, just waiting on Ariel to arrive and I'm away!

In the pishing rain, I

Put the fuel tank back on (what a b@llache that was on me own)

Fitted the new exhaust centre section

changed the transfer box oil. There seemed to be way to much oil in.
(i think a gorilla serviced this truck last, I ended up busting a socket on the fill plug)

drained the half litre or so of oil from the gear box, filled it up with the required almost 3 litres.
Could the missing oil from here have ended up in the transfer box I wonder, I'll have to keep my eye on this.

On the whole, a pretty productive day, but I don't think I'll ever be warm again :beer:

Transfer box is separate from the gearbox buddy. No way can oil move from one to the other.

I re-painted one of the underbody protection plates.

I have just got the longer one to do sometime during the week:-

Headed over to fudge's to give him a hand, lightening the load. I appear to have loaded my truck up instead...

And just picked a few bits up from vermithrax near Doncaster too. These KL71s really DO stick to the black stuff, plus the new (to me) bucket seat sure is comfy on long distances! Cheers fudge :thumbup:

well i decided to fit my lovely new 2" shackles on my beast

thought id spray them green to match the "HULK" :mrgreen:

had a slight height problem with the jack ..

went on easy as pie..

couldnt really tell the results on the drivers side :evil:

on hind sight prob should have got it fixed while the wheel was off :oops:

but could tell on passenger

looks like a normal ride height fronty now ive put me tools away :lol:

Picked up a missing to me and spare interior light cover from a scrappy. Also grabbed an indicator stalk/hazard light switch/wiper switch assembly while I was there. My intermittent wipe setting is a bit hit and miss. Got the stalk thingy for £10 and he chucked the light covers in for free.

Cheers for that, snapper, I'll check the levels again next weekend then.
