start engine oil pressure guage rises to a good level approx 3/4..after a while oil warms, guage drops to approx 1/2 but will stay at that mark all day exept if reves drop to tick over then drop to 1/4( traffic light..stopped in traffic).....is this early sign that oil pump needs replaced...have just dropped oil but not replaced oil filter.....

Should cruise at hald and pick up to around 3/4 while revving. Cold should be higher.
Would suggest new oil and filter first, what engine do you have?

As long as it blips up when accelerating it sounds about right. Never hurts to give it a bit of TLC.

Should be around the 1/4 mark when idle once the engine has warmed up (mine stays at 3/4 on idle and slowly drops as it warms up) and about the 1/2 - 3/4 mark when cruising/revving. Oil should be 10w40 and its always a good idea to change the filter whenever you change the oil.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it! Me Truck![Image](http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh133/Sir-Doris/Misc/4x4rwbannersig.jpg)
