load sensing valve

Postby colin all on Fri Feb 22, 2008 10:27 pm

Hi
Can anyone tell me

what does the load sensing valve actually do. I know it is connected with the braking system, but not sure what it is actually supposed to do. Reason i ask is mine seems to be totally jammed ? but brakes seem to be working as you would expect

99 LWB V6 petrol

Cheers

load sensing valve works according to the amount of weight you have in the rear of your truck ....

the more weight ...the more it opens to aply better rear braking

if it doesn't work ..it's an mot failiure

It adjusts the amount of braking force applied to the rear brakes depending on the weight carried in the luggage area.

It sences the wieght on the rear axle and adusts the fluid pressure to the brake to prevent them locking up ect, if your braking normally no loss of brakes or excessive locking up, it should be working ok.
