wetroads wrote:Tissington is a ford of sheer quality. On this visit, the depth gauge read half a foot. I watched as the National Park Ranger flew through creating a splash higher than his Defender and decided that I might give this one a miss for now. The splashdown lasts for around 7 car lengths, but a slightly rocky and uneven bottom means a nervous crossing for light vehicles at all but low flows. However, this one can be hit at speed in a 4x4 and is well worth a visit

There are tons of Lanes around the Area, but I'd need Lawrence to have a dig around the OS/LandRanger/Wayfinder Bits to find out what's available and can be used for a Half-Days Running!!

Sorry,
Here's where I'm going to try to get us into.
PUB & B&B
The Main Prices are £40 to £60 a night B&B ..
That IS PEAK PRICES !!!
We're Going Off-Peak and more than one room!!
I'd say it is well worth it , a Full 16oz Gammon (Sorry Carl) Steak with
Egg, Chips and Veg was under £8 !!

It was great as kids, the ford and river was flowing , then walk 50 yards and it filtered away within 3 metres underground
