I know chipping them naffs the warrany up...My sons m8t did the same to his xbox 360 and got caught out by microsoft just as soon as he went online with it...Ohhh dear big fine

its very easy to chip a wii,you buy the chip and and screw driver to fit those triangle screws,cost between £30 to £40 for the pair,theres a cable that connects the cdrom to the motherboard,unplug it from the motherboard and plug the cable into the chip,then the cable from the chip plugs into the motherboard,so basically the chip sits between the cdrom and motherboard and sends a signal to the motherboard saying theres an original cd in the rom,there are cheaper chips out there but some need soldering on and others need boot discs,so its best to get one thats plug and play even though there a few quid more. please note these chips are for playing your backups of discs you allready own :) downloading games would be wrong :)
