Hiya guys... dont know if anyone can shed any light on a strange thing that is growing on my HP vs19x monitor... It started about a week ago, but is growing day by day... Not sure if its the monitor loosing pixels or something, or whether something is stuffed with my pc thats causing it, or if its a virus thing... Was gonna try another monitor on it to prove a point, but the other monitor I have is kinda inaccesible in the studio and would take hours to extract the wiring from the rack its mounted in. tryed wacking the monitor a few times...and that didnt help at all... This is it from a distance, just to the right of screen centre... and close up... Thanks guys in advance for your help...

It ain't a virus .. I would say you have issues with the backlight on the monitor. Different monitor would prove the point.
If you right click your desktop and select "properties" then select "settings" and change the resolution for a lower setting on the slider you should see the size of the black marks change if its a computer graphics or software problem. If the blodge stays the same regardless of the resolution then I would say your monitor has the black plague.

Oh and wacking it probably doesn't help ... nor would plasma cutting the section out of the screen with the marks on.

the monitor is bleeding, the glass is damaged slightly so its slowly failing basically
usually you get it on laptop screens around the edge after they have been dropped

Defo dead pixels. Not seen a cluster that big before though, they're usually just odd ones here and there
