Got me a new toy

A Compaq Tablet PC:

It comes with it's own docking station:


with some additional ports and a DVD drive


The docking station can be tilted and the head rotated:


When un-docked, the keyboard can be unfolded


or folded flat


or folded back underneath the screen:


or removed completely to be used as a tablet PC


With a blue tooth dongle talking to a GPS receiver - can you see where I'm going with this ?


It's the size of an A4 sheet of paper and 21mm thick, the screen being 10.4" across the diagonal. 40GB hard disk, 700ish MB memory, USB2, wireless, etc

All I need now is to find a bracket to mount it in the car.

I was looking at doing some sort of car-pc eventually, but maybe that's a bit overkill and a netbook, or tablet...

Try RAM Mounts, they do a wide range of mounting systems for all sorts of gear, have one in my Fronty for a Samsung Q1.

Hasn't fallen off yet, even when bouncing around over various lanes
