Split Bulkhead

Applies to

A Series, all engine variants.

Symptoms

• Gears are difficult to engage
• Vehicle will creep in gear with clutch depressed
• Occasional dull click heard from the bulkhead when traversing undulating terrain

Cause

The double skin sheet metalwork around the clutch pedal has possibly cracked:

Remedial Action

The bulkhead has to be repaired, which involves removing the dashboard, carpets and front seats, welding/reinforcing the damage and reassembling everything.

Time Required

Allow a full day (10 hours)
