Throttle free play

Postby lee771 on Sun Feb 19, 2017 7:03 pm

Hi guys
My 2.0 has felt real down on power lately so have replaced the maf and still feels the same have noticed that there seems to be a lot (about quarter inch) play in the Throttle cable and is really down on power has almost stalled a few times when trying to pull out of junctions etcetera till I rev her hard almost feels like a miss fire. On motor way foot flat to the floor really struggling to get her past 60 65, she used to sit happy at 75 80 with out moaning.
Any ideas?

So have changed fuel filter and she does feel a little better seems to be picking up 1st 2nd and 3rd better and don't like I'm holding up traffic anymore. Took her for a quick spin up the a5 took her a while to get there but she did sit at a steady 70 and did hit a dizzying 74!! As I normally only do 60 this is sufficient and I need to remember she is pushing 33s up a hill on the way back she did drop to 60 but maintained it well enough Eml came on 3 times while climbing the hill for about 3 seconds at a time, no eml any other time

Still think there may be crap in the tank so when I drop the tank to do the tank guard will check it out also gonnamed put some new spark plugs in her

While you are at it. Remove, clean, silicone grease your brake sliders front and back. Then clean the pad shims.

Thanks for the advice

All breaks have been done and lubed as I had a sticky caliper.

She normally runs well on 33s and is happy to sit on the motor way.

Part way through full service as she is over due one any way.
