Well it's been a while. Progress had stalled somewhat due to work and motivation.

So, new rear shocks fitted. Rough country N2.0.

All new fuel and brake lines on the rear, they had been an advisory for several years before being laid up so duly thought it was time to change them. Good job too, most of them cracked with slight wiggling.

Waxoiled everything.

New tires ordered. Insa turbo special track in my preferred size, 265/75/16

Rear fuel tank guard chopped and rewelded to sit higher up in the chassis to suit the body lift I did about 8 years ago.

So as far as I can tell I only have left:
Smallish hole in the nearside rear sill just before the wheel arch.
Sticking relays in the alarm/immobilizer unit. Indicators come on randomly if the battery is reconnected for 20 minutes or so.
Which leads me to... Does anyone know if there are batteries in the tectus alarm/immobilizer unit (under dash, behind glove boxheater control panel somewhere if memory serves) or if it just has relays that need changing?

Will post this in the relevant alarm section anyway.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Well - a few days ago I managed with a friend to sort out the exhaust of Grünstreifen (replaced by a new part) and to get some welding the rear part of the sides for passing it's MOT for the next two years.

This car works hard to get my personal award of the cheapest car ever competing with GodZilla. But to be honest it is difficult breaking something while standing around most of the time...
Kind regards,
Ian

Finally. Took the truck in for an mot on Friday.

Passed with one advisory. Passenger seat not fitted at time of test.

Only have one niggle (technically 2) left. Nearside electric windows aren't working. I changed the lift controller and the switch as I had spares. Nope, not that so it's either the leccy windows themselves or a wiring issue.

Also stuck on an old set of road tyres for the mot as the knobbly ones on it has perished (5 years of not moving will do that to a tyre).

I'll get a new set of muds when I've had the wheels powder coated and have some spare cash.

Just need to get the 2 2.5 props cut and welded to make a 1 piece prop, it seems none of the one piece props from other models are long enough to fit a 2.2i.

I may wash the 5 years of green off it later today.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Fitted new handbrake cables and shoes.

Seeing as we picked up a new horsebox I figured Phi would like a handbrake lever which doesn't require having Lou Ferrigno in the passenger seat to release it.

I finally got around to removing the ghastly spare wheel carrier on the A Series.
Started out with all good intentions of using sockets and spanners then after needing to take the bumper off but to do that I needed to take the whole tow bar off I went for a different approach and just got the angle grinder and cut the bottom plate off where the bearing sits then it just dropped on the floor.
I can not believe how much that thing weighs.
Should help the mpg.
Was going to put the spare on the roof but that then made the beast 2.15m talks and I won't fit in the car park.
So for now no spare for day to day as tyre weld will do the job but if I go off down Violets lane the spare will get chucked in the back just in case.

A little transplant of a broken wiper arm from Grünstreifen to Mrs' Godzilla. It broke yesterday while I did put some snow and ice from the windscreen with an ice scraper.
Spare (used) is ordered already.
Kind regards,
Ian

Thankyou. The standard grille looks horrible compared to the newer grille and the headlights are better than the original headlights.
