New Road tax costs

Postby jimmybhoy on Wed Feb 22, 2017 6:12 am

Hi folks, Not been on for ages although been looking in on phone. As the new road tax changes come into force in April, does anyone know how much it will be going up by. Mine are both 3.2, just thinking ahead to get a full years maybe in march  , instead of doing the usual monthly.

Only affects new cars. They cannot retroactively change the VED costs for cars that have left the forecourt.

It was one of the reasons people didn't get ht by increased VED rates when the VAG emissions scandal hit. A lot of cars fell into a higher VED category but as they were sold under pretense the Government had to make a statement that VED on those cars wouldn't go up to the category they should be in.
