Been out in the mud

Postby Spudicus on Mon Sep 12, 2016 1:36 pm

Hi all,
Just been out playing in the mud, managed to get beached twice. Think I need to look at a suspension lift kit, body lift kit and some M-T rubber, the A-T's couldn't cope at all.

For laning ATs should be more than adequate. What tyres have you got on? Was you out by yourself?

She's got fairly new Yoko GeoLanders on, reasonable tyres, just didn't work in the soft clay ruts. Yeah, went out to play on my own, took my trusty emergency shovel. Used some fallen branches and minimal work with the shovel to get moving. Tidied up after myself, you would never know I'd been stuck there.
Will need the lift kits, M-T's and a snorkel, want to come and play at 2017 annual meet. Looks great fun.

Ahh yeah heavy clay will get you stuck, but i've been round avalanche on AT's. Always best to go out with someone else as worst case scenario you get injured and no one knows where you are and your in the middle of no where.

I know it's not wise to hit the lanes alone, but I couldn't resist the call of a bit of mud as I've got 6 days on at work now. It's getting close to the 'closed season' in Northamptonshire, I think they shut all the public byways.

Northants CC shut the lanes at the end of October (circa 31st or last working day if the 31st is a weekend) and don't re-open until 1st may the following year (or first working day there after).

Where are you in Northants

Cheers Stuart
