How accurate is your fuel gauge reading when on hills?

My gauge move a hell of a lot when going up and down hills (not that steep) my fuel gauge can go from half a tank to just over empty?

Is this normal?

mine (if i can bear to think about when i used to drive it)would only show 3/4 full when topped to the brim and would drop to half after about 50 miles then stick there till almost empty

only reason i cant drive it been at repairer now for over 2 months feal peeved about that

My readings are fine when on the flat it's just driving about my fuel gauge goes up and down like the Rev counter lol
