Frontera B LWB 2" Body Lift

Postby mrburnett800 on Thu Apr 14, 2016 2:50 pm

Hello. I am wanting to do a 2" body lift on my B series LWB. Before I do is there anything I should know? Any problems I may come across?

Thanks people

Don't forget to take off the bumpers. ;-)

Get extra lift blocks to lift the bumper plastics and not the bumpers themselves. Keep a close eye on the front brake lines as you are lifting the body, you should be able to tweek them by hand to avoid them kinking. Plenty of information on here if you do a search.

Thanks for the replys. I have down loads of searching but cannot seem to find definitive answers. I have read something about some captive nuts, not sure if that's on a b series. Just been under it on the ramp at work. Doesn't seem to bad to do. Strip the carpets back to get to the top of the body bolts in the cab. Had a look to see how the bumpers come off.

Main reason for doing it is a want some 31 / 32" tyres on. I know I need to cut the front wheel arch. Thought it would be better to do body lift as well. Just not sure if I can be bothered.

Without having the bumper off I am not sure if I understand the what you mean about using extra lift blocks for the bumpers?

You don't need to do a body lift to fit 31"/32" tyres. Just trim the fat out of the rear of the front arches and bobs your uncle. A 2" Suspension lift might be more what you need and easier to do as well. My Dti had 265/75 r16's (32") on no problem with just a 2" lift (see the Dti link in my signature)
